Nachimuthu Polytechnic College
Nachimuthu Polytechnic College (NPTC) is a Government aided co-educational Institution established in the year 1957 and is affiliated to the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Govt. of Tamilnadu. The institute is located 3 kms away from Pollachi on the Coimbatore - Dindugal National Highway (NH 209) in a wide area of 60 acres with a serene atmosphere.
The institute started with 3 Diploma programmes and student strength of around 120 at the time of establishment has now grown as a polytechnic of excellence offering 12 Diploma Programmes and one Post Diploma programme with student strength of around 1300 students. The Institute has been granted full autonomous status from the start of the academic year 1991-92.
Nachimuthu Polytechnic College offers quality education to produce effective and competent professionals to meet the growing demands of the industry. With the visionary management, experienced educators and industrial linkages, NPTC is a niche provider of quality education for the past 50 years. Close proximity of the institute and linkages established with industries enable students to acquire up-to-date skills through training.
Nachimuthu Polytechnic College started its community service from the year 1985 for the cause of rural development through the Community Polytechnic Scheme of the Govt. of India. So far it has imparted skill training to around 12,000 rural youth of this region. This has been one of the factors for the establishment of Sakthi Pura.

Director :
Prof. S. Vijayarangan, is an Automobile Engineer from the Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai. He holds his Master’s degree in Engineering Design, from Madras University , through PSG College of Technology, and his doctoral degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai.
He joined the stream of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at PSG College of Technology in the year 1978 and has more than 25 years of teaching and research experience. Under his guidance, 9 Ph.D scholars have obtained their doctoral degree and another scholars are working currently. To his credit more than 100 publications out of which more than 40 papers are published in International and National Journals. His field of interest and research are automobile engineering, composite material structures, finite element analysis and gear engineering. He is a former Principal of PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore
He has been a member of the AICTE Expert Committee in different Staff Selection Boards and Inspection Committees. Also, he has been a member of the board of examiners in different Universities and autonomous Colleges. He is a former Chairman of The Institution of Engineers ( India ), Coimbatore Local Centre. He is a Member of ISTE, SAE , USA and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, India .
Principal :
Thiru R. Manivannan was graduated in B.E., Mechanical Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University in 1990. He is a post graduate in Automobile Engineering from Madras Institute of Technology in Chennai. After five years of service in premier engineering colleges, he joined Nachimuthu Polytechnic College in the year 1999 as Senior Lecturer and raised to the capacity of Head of Department, Automobile Engineering. He has published two papers in the International and national journals and has presented two papers in International Conferences. Currently he is pursuing Ph.D., in Anna University, Chennai and his field of research is control of Diesel engine particulate emissions.
He is a member of Society of Automotive Engineers (India), and also a member of Indian Society for Technical Education, New DelhiWebsite:
