Dr.Mahalingam College of Engineering & Technology
Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology ( MCET ) established in the year 1998 is a private, self financing, co-educational institution approved by the All India Council for Technical Education ( AICTE ) and is affiliated to the Anna University. The college is located on the Coimbatore – Dindugal National Highway ( NH-209) in 29 acres of land at Pollachi.
The college offers 8 Engineering and 3 Applied Science undergraduate programmes in various disciplines and 5 postgraduate programmes and 2 doctoral programmes. The institute has been awarded with ISO 9001:2000 certificate by TUV Rhineland. Also it is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation ( NBA ).
The college has excellent infrastructure with well equipped, state-of-the-art labs, 24 mbps internet connectivity with 16 Mbps, intranet, linking more than 1500 computers with Optic Fibre Cables ( OFC ).

Director (Academic):
Prof. S. Vijayarangan, is an Automobile Engineer from the Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai. He holds his Master’s degree in Engineering Design, from Madras University , through PSG College of Technology, and his doctoral degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai.
He joined the stream of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at PSG College of Technology in the year 1978 and has more than 25 years of teaching and research experience. Under his guidance, 9 Ph.D scholars have obtained their doctoral degree and another scholars are working currently. To his credit more than 100 publications out of which more than 40 papers are published in International and National Journals. His field of interest and research are automobile engineering, composite material structures, finite element analysis and gear engineering. He is a former Principal of PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore
He has been a member of the AICTE Expert Committee in different Staff Selection Boards and Inspection Committees. Also, he has been a member of the board of examiners in different Universities and autonomous Colleges. He is a former Chairman of The Institution of Engineers ( India ), Coimbatore Local Centre. He is a Member of ISTE, SAE , USA and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, India .
Principal :
Dr. M. Ramakrishnan was born on 5th June 1952 at Batlagundu of Dindigul District. He obtained his B.E., degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from P.S.G. College of Technology, Coimbatore, M.E., degree in Communication Systems from College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University and Ph.D., from College of Engineering, Anna University.
He has two decades of teaching, research and 18 years of industrial experience. His experiences include teaching at College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University Chennai and S.S.N. College of Engineering, Chennai. He has worked at various capacities like Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor and HoD. His areas of interest include Digital Communication, Wireless and Mobile Communication and Wireless Networks. He is a recognized Research Supervisor of Anna University, Chennai. He is at present guiding seven research scholars in his chosen field.
He worked in many lead industries like, Telerad, Solidaire, Sears Elcot, Mecotronics etc.at various capacities as Research Engineer, Quality Control Manager, Service Manager and Area Manager. He owned a company, for about ten years, and manufactured Single Phase, Three Phase and SMPS Transformers, Stabilizers, Power Injectors, CATV Amplifiers, Modulators and Satellite Communication equipments.
Prof. Ramakrishnan is the recipient of the best teacher award from S.S.N. College of Engineering and the best paper award in International Conference conducted in M.I.T., Anna University.
He is a Fellow of IETE and Institution of Engineers (India), a Member of IEEE and IEEE (Com. Soc) and a Life Member of ISTE and CSI. He has travelled extensively to countries like France, UK, USA, Singapore and Sri Lanka, in connection with higher studies and research activities.
