Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology (MCET) is a self – financing educational institution situated in Pollachi, Coimbatore District. MCET is the vision of Arutchelvar Dr. N. Mahalingam, whose determination and dynamism made possible the realization of this institution of excellence. MCET was established in 1998 to commemorate the 75th Birthday of this great visionary Arutchelvar Dr. N. Mahalingam.

The Department of Computer Applications was started in the year 2001. The department is committed to provide state of art management and computer education on par with international standards. The department aims at promoting quality and value based education by motivating the skills of students, creating awareness on the future trends of software industry and familiarizes the students to face interviews with buoyancy.
