National Assessment And Accreditation Council (NAAC) proposes that every accredited institution should establish an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC will become a part of an institution’s system and work towards realizing the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the performance of institutions. The IQAC will make a significant and meaningful contribution in the post-accreditation phase of institutions. During the post-accreditation period, the IQAC will channelize the efforts and measures of an institution towards academic excellence.
The IQAC shall have the following functions:

MCET has obtained the NAAC accreditation scoring a commendable CCPA of 3.61 out of 4 and acquiring ‘A’ grade with a quality description VERY GOOD. In the specially arranged 6th NAAC accreditation awards ceremony on Sunday, 24th March 2013 at Central College Campus, Bangalore, Dr. P. Chenthur Pandian, Principal of the college received the certificate of accreditation.
NAAC’s peer team visited MCET on 23rd and 24th November 2012 for quality assessment in the key areas of Teaching-Learning and Evaluation, Infrastructure and Learning Resources, Curricular aspects, Student Support and Progression, Governance and Leaderships, Research and Extension activities and Innovative Practices. Further to this quality check, NAAC has awarded the accreditation certificate.
